USCIS extends STEM majors for OPT program (2011/05/13)


Immigration and Customs Enforcement expands list of qualified STEM majors for OPT program
To ensure United States’ continued prominence in the science and technology sectors, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has expanded its list of qualified STEM majors for the OPT program. The OPT STEM program allows qualified graduates to remain in the U.S. for another 17 months after graduation to receive training through work experience. Below are the new majors added to the list of existing qualifying STEM majors:
